Hesketh Park

Hesketh Park

Hesketh Park is one of the largest public parks in Southport, Merseyside. It is situated near the north end of Lord Street in this seaside town. First opened in the mid-19th century it was further developed in the 20th Century.

The park is 12 hectares in size and has ample on-street parking. Its Victorian charm still remains today especially due to the restoration of the landscaped gardens and its ornate fountains. For children, there are nature trails, wildlife to spot, a children’s play area and a large lake with ducks to feed. The play area includes swings, climbing equipment, a bike track and an enclosed ball games/basketball court.

Features in the park include the American Garden, the Clock Garden, the Specimen Garden, the Herbaceous Garden and the Mixed Flower Garden. There are also grass and hard tennis courts which are available for public use free, of charge on a first come first served basis.
