High Lodge Thetford Forest

High Lodge Thetford Forest Suffolk is a large forest maintained by the Forestry Commission. It is their premier site in the East of England and you can enjoy walking, cycling, playing and more.
What is there to do at High Lodge Thetford Forest?
Every corner of High Lodge has something waiting to be discovered, The more you walk around the forest, the more you will find. There are play areas dotted around the forest with something for all ages. High Lodge is famous for its free adventure play facilities. There is the Gruffalo sand play area for toddlers, a helter-skelter tunnel slide, den building and a musical sound trail. Plus there are giant swings, seesaws, pyramids, a treehouse and more.
There are a number of trails through a rich wilderness and there are even mountain biking tracks. There are four walking trails in the forest and 3 cycling trails. There is a Go Ape adventure area that has low and high ropes courses (bookable, there is a cost to use this facility). You can even have a go at archery and axe throwing (minimum age requirements).
There is an interactive Gruffalo Spotter trail using their new Gruffalo Spotter 2 app. You can interact with all the characters as you go in search of the Gruffalo in the deep dark wood.

There is a cafe serving hot and cold food and drinks. You are welcome to bring a picnic.

Free. There is a charge to park and some activities such as Go Ape have a charge.

There is a car park with a charge to park. All-day parking costs £12.50, up to 4 hours £9.50, other pricing options are available.
