Discover the delightful charm of Highland Cow Cottage, a lovingly restored small-farm experience nestled in the scenic hills of South Cambridgeshire. Here, you’ll find one of the UK’s friendliest herds of Scottish Highland cows and a warm, countryside escape that blends nature, comfort and unforgettable moments.

At the heart of your visit is the Highland Cow Experience: a 30-minute session where you’ll hand-feed, brush, pet and photograph these gentle giants in their paddock. Bring along apples, bananas, carrots or white bread (they’re big fans!) and enjoy this up-close encounter with an unhurried pace and animal-led wellbeing.

For a little extra indulgence, why not combine your cow meet-up with Afternoon Tea in a heated, highland-cow-themed igloo? Enjoy classic sandwiches, fresh scones, triple-chocolate brownies and a special “Highland Cow” cupcake each, with vegan and gluten-free options available.

The star residents, Alfie, Liz, Megan, Sofia, Holly, Rose, Agnes and Spike, bring real character to the farm. From rich golden-red coats to striking black ones, each comes with a story and a gentle nature. Guests aren’t just here for a photo op. Highland Cow Cottage is committed to animal welfare, ensuring open-space grazing, enrichment and a calm, respectful environment for the herd.
