Holme Pierrepont Country Park near Nottingham is somewhere I wish we lived closer to. It’s a great place for families and there’s always plenty to see and do there.

THolme Pierrepont Country Park review – Home of the National Water Sports Centre

When I was young I used to love rollerskating around the main Regatta lake. It’s also perfect for walking, cycling and scootering. They also have a mud cycle trail and a mountain bike route. It’s great to watch all the water sports along the way via the National Water Sports Centre. You might even see people on the white waters.

One of the highlights is the Sky Trail. It is a dual-level high ropes course which goes as high as 24 feet, there is even a 2m Tykes course for the little ones (from 1.2m). High ropes – Minimum height with an adult 1m, without an adult 1.2m. There is also a climbing wall from 5 years+/a minimum height of 1.1m.

On the water, families can enjoy bouncy fun on the Lagoon Wipeout. Children from 8 years can slide, climb, balance, bash and more their way around this floating obstacle course. Why not try kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding or canoeing? The minimum age to row alone is 8 years. The minimum age tandem is 18 months. SUP from 12 years, XL with an adult from 18 months. Kids will love the lazy river tubing from 6 years old.

Other activities are a 9-hole mini-golf course, Segways from 134cm and archery combat from 8 years. ECombat laser tag from 8 years, FootGolf from any age (confident walkers +), plus fishing. For no charge, you can walk around the 270 acres and kids can play on their playground. Children from 14 years can even go white water rafting, white water tubing or white water kayaking. All activities have a charge unless stated.
