Howletts Wild Animal Park
Howletts Animal Park is a large zoo located just outside of Canterbury in Kent. It’s home to a huge number of animals from across the world and makes a really great day out for all the family. From elephants to giraffes, gorillas to tigers, this is the place to go if it’s the bigger animals you’re looking for. There are, however, smaller attractions too, such as bears and birds, and you can even walk through the Lemur enclosure, to view them up close.
Try to go around Easter time, as the gorillas usually welcome some new arrivals, and if you’re lucky you might get to see one of their really cute babies. If your kids still want to burn off some steam there’s a play area near the main restaurant. The park has just recently introduced an App too, which allows you to view the animals through augmented reality technology, which sounds like a lot of fun for some of the older children.
