Knettishall Heath Nature Reserve

Knettishall Heath Nature Reserve is a 91-hectare site of Special Scientific Interest located near Knettishall, Norfolk. It is one of the UK’s hotspots for biodiversity and there are ponies that graze on areas of the reserve all year round. Around the reserve, there are six trails between 1 and 2.5 miles in length. Paths are generally good but may be muddy in places in winter.
The open landscape was created by our Bronze Age ancestors 4,000 years ago and it has changed very little since. The 18th-century rabbit warren and the Bronze Age burial mound at Hut Hill are evidence of thousands of years of human occupation. Many rare species are found here including the grey carpet moth.
They run a number of family-friendly clubs including a weekend wildlife club, young wardens, wild tots, SEND woodland play and more. There is also an outdoor play area.
