Museum Overview
Lapworth Museum of Geology is run by the University of Birmingham and it is located at the Aston Webb Building in Birmingham. It is one of the oldest specialist geological museums in the UK.
The museum showcases exceptional objects and its state-of-the-art galleries and range of innovative and interactive exhibits are all free of charge. From rocks and fossils to volcanoes, earthquakes and even dinosaurs. They hold the most extensive collection of fossils, minerals and rocks in the Midlands.
They run a range of activities many of which are also free of charge. Family activities include educational talks, tours and arts and crafts activities. There is also often a free trail that children can take around the museum with them.
