Things to do Margam Country Park review

Margam Country park is a huge park estate of around 850 acres located near Port Talbot in South Wales. It was once owned by the Mansel Talbot family and you can see the house they once lived in. It is now owned and administered by the local council.

The estate is noted for its peacock population and also the deer that have existed on the site since at least Norman times. They also have aviaries on the estate that house a number of rescued birds of prey. There are many different long distance paths within the park including many tarmac paths. These are great for hiring the go-karts from Margam Park adventure and exploring.

There is also a miniature railway within the park which takes visitors around the park in the summer. The main entrance hall and staircase hall within the Grade 1 listed 19th century Tudor gothic mansion are open daily. You can also explore some of the most interesting gardens in South Wales.

The park also has a Go Ape treetop adventure and a children’s adventure playground. Plus there is a farm trail and there are a range of miniature houses all with Fairytale themes. There is also a land train that takes you from the car park to the castle.
