Minack Theatre

Minack Theatre

The Minack Theatre is located in the picturesque Porthcurno near Penzance, Cornwall. It is a spectacular open-air theatre which is perched on the Cornish cliffs. The season runs from May to September and it is quite possibly the most spectacular outdoor theatre in the world.

The very first performance was of The Tempest back in 1932. It was performed with great success and the theatre was improved over the coming months. When the theatre isn’t open for a performance you can visit throughout most of the rest of the year.

Entry is at your own risk as the site is steep and includes many steps. It is open to the elements and surfaces may be slippery in wet weather. There is only access for wheelchairs and pushchairs to the top levels. You can access an online audio tour on your phone to guide you around the theatre at your own pace.
