Natural History Museum London

Natural History Museum London

The fact this vast museum is free and it is pretty amazing. Even walking up to the building itself is an experience as it’s so iconic. We arrived 10 minutes before the building opened and there was already a queue of around 100 people. We all slowly filed in together and then we were free to wander the vastness of this wonderful museum.

What can you do at the Natural History Museum London?

We wondered in amazement at the skeletons in the main hall and then headed to their main dinosaur exhibition. This is excellent and even includes a giant animated T-Rex and plenty of other things to see. Most of the skeletons are casts which is a shame but understandable. Let’s not forget how long it has been since they died out!

There is plenty in the insect’s room to keep kids entertained for ages! We also found the earthquake simulator quite an experience. Had we been more lively we could have easily spent 3 hours or more in there learning about the forces of nature etc. There are of course cabinets and cabinets of taxidermy. There’s barely a creature not included in the museum. It’s almost like a zoo that’s frozen in time.
