North Yorkshire Water Park

North Yorkshire water park is located in Wykeham, near Scarborough. It is a great place to enjoy outdoor water sports, and with an all-terrain track, it’s also a perfect place for a walk, run or cycle away from traffic. The park also now has a wooden play area, a zip wire and a cafe.

The all-terrain gravel path follows the lake for around 2.5km. When we visited in the late spring, it was a haven for wildlife and as well as spotting many water birds, we also found more caterpillars than we’ve ever seen in our lives. For some of the walk, you can also watch the people enjoying activities on and in the lake.

As well as offering open water swimming sessions, there are also plenty of other water sports on offer. In the warmer months, there is a large inflatable aquapark course. They also have stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and some really fun pedalos. Plus some mini electric ships. There are also three well-stocked fishing lakes just a short walk from the water park, with a trout lake, a coarse lake and a predator lake.

You can now enjoy a truly unique family stay with helicopter glamping at North Yorkshire Water Park. This converted chopper sits right by the lakes and includes a double bed plus bunk beds for two children, along with heating, lighting, a TV and outdoor seating with a fire pit and BBQ area. It’s a fun, memorable lakeside escape with a big wow‑factor for kids and grown‑ups alike.

What are the ticket prices?

The park is completely free to visit and to walk around. Activities come with an additional charge.
Pedalos – £10 per pedalo per 30 minute session.
Kayaking – Single £14 pp per hour, Tandem £20 per hour.
SUP – Hire without instruction £14 pp per hour. With instruction £20 pp per hour.
Open water swimming – £5 per person minimum age 11.
Fishing – Various prices available.
Mini electric ships – £10 per boat, 20-minute session.
Aquapark – Price is currently unavailable.
