Linton Zoo

Linton Zoo

Linton Zoo is a small animal park with a big focus on animal care and breeding for conservation. It is an ideal zoo to visit with children because it is so compact. Little legs can easily walk around it twice without getting tired.

What can you do at Linton Zoo?

We have an annual pass for Linton Zoo and enjoy popping down for a couple of hours to see our favourite animals,. You will not find big animals, that need a lot of space here, but they do house several stunning big cats, primates, reptiles and birds. We are particular fans of the Brazilian tapirs and lions. The tapirs are curious and will come right up to visitors.

There are two prides of magnificent lions who usually lounge almost within touching distance. We love the cute small animals, too, including lemurs, porcupines and binturong. The giant tortoises are also really impressive.

Although there is a playground, this isn’t an attraction where you will be spending hours waiting for the kids to finish their play. The small play area is more of a useful pit stop halfway around your walk. The same can be said of the basic cafe at the entrance. Other extras that are popular with my children are the dinosaur trail with its awesome brachiosaurus and the bouncy castle in the car park.
