Portland Bill Lighthouse

Portland Bill Lighthouse

The Portland Bill Lighthouse is a functioning lighthouse located on the Isle of Portland in Dorset. The lighthouse first opened to the public in 2015.

There is an impressive main exhibit where you can learn more about the lighthouse and its keepers. The lighthouse has been standing for over 114 years and stands at a height of 41 metres. Today the former lighthouse keepers’ dwellings feature fun and informative maritime displays and interactives.

The exhibition also contains a number of historical artefacts and there is the opportunity to encounter a stormy sea journey in the exhilarating zone ‘Into the Dark’. You can also climb all 153 steps to reach the top and witness some magnificent views. On a clear day, you can see for miles. You have to be 1.1 metres tall to climb the lighthouse.
