Royal Yacht Britannia
The Royal Yacht Britannia is a 5-star visitor attraction located on the water close to the city of Edinburgh. Quoted as being “A ship like no other”. She was first launched in 1953 and served the Royal Family for over 44 years.
What can you do on the Royal Yacht Britannia?
There is plenty on board the ship that you can look around today including Admiral’s quarters, crew’s quarters, state apartments, the bridge and there is even the Royal Deck tearoom where you too could enjoy afternoon tea. It was the only ship in the Royal Navy to have a laundry service.
Your visit includes an audio guide and there’s even a special audio guide for kids. In total, there are 5 decks to explore and kids will love the 3-metre LEGO replica of the Britannia, there’s even a Rolls-Royce Phantom V. As you walk the decks and staterooms you will learn about the ship’s fascinating history with zero chance of getting seasick.
The boat oozes luxury, even down to the gleaming engine room. Historical figures such as Nelson Mandela and Sir Winston Churchill were even entertained in the state apartments.

There is a tea room serving hot and cold food and drinks, you can even book an afternoon tea.

A Large historical ship that was used for many years by the Royal family, with 5 floors to explore including the bridge, staterooms, crew’s quarters and more. There is a tearoom and toilets onboard.
What are the ticket prices?
An adult ticket costs £18.50, children aged 5-17 £9.25 and other pricing options including family tickets are available.

Is there parking?
There is free car parking available at Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre, where the Visitor Centre is located. They recommend parking in the Blue multi-storey car park on Level E, as this is closest to the Visitor Centre.
When are they open?
