Things to do at Royal Yacht Britannia review
The Royal Yacht Britannia is a 5-star visitor attraction located on the water close to the city of Edinburgh. Quoted as being “A ship like no other”. She was first launched in 1953 and served the Royal Family for over 44 years.
There is plenty on board the ship that you can look around today including Admiral’s quarters, crew’s quarters, state apartments, the bridge and there is even the Royal Deck tearoom where you too could enjoy afternoon tea. It was the only ship in the Royal Navy to have a laundry service.
Your visit includes an audio guide and there’s even a special audio guide for kids. In total there are 5 decks to explore with and kids will love the 3 metre LEGO replica of the Britannia and there’s even a Rolls-Royce Phantom V. As you walk the decks and staterooms you will learn about the ship’s fascinating history with zero chance of getting seasick.
The boat oozes luxury, even down to the gleaming engine room. Historical figures such as Nelson Mandela and Sir Winston Churchill were even entertained in the state apartments.
Please note – Most places may still require you to pre-book online in advance. Some venues also still have certain areas closed for safety reasons. Please check their website and/or social media pages before visiting.
