What can you do at Sheffield Botanical Gardens Nature Reserve>

The most notable feature of the gardens is the Grade II* listed glass pavilions. These were restored in 2003 and there are a number of other notable structures dotted around the gardens. The pavilions are home to a wonderful collection of plants from the temperate areas of the world.

Several winding paths take you through over 18 different gardens. Each has a geographical or botanical theme. Much loved by children is the listed Bear Pit which can be found hidden between the recently renovated Mediterranean and Himalayan gardens. There is also a well-preserved fossil of a tree-like Lepidodendron on display in the Evolution garden.

The venue is home to a number of events, throughout the year including music, open-air theatre and art in the gardens.
