Shipley Country Park is located in Heanor, Derbyshire. It is 700 acres in size and has 20 miles of paths and bridleways so it’s a great place to enjoy a family-friendly walk.

What is there to do at Shipley Country Park?

The Shipley Estate once belonged to an ancient manor that was mentioned in the 1086 Domesday book. The park opened to the public in 1976 and there are leaflets detailing its history and heritage in the visitor centre (small charge applies).

As well as a visitor centre there is a well-stocked gift shop refreshments and an events, field. There is a natural play area, a toddlers, play area and an adventure play area. You can enjoy walking, cycling and horse riding. Plus angling, kite flying, bird watching and more.
