South Downs Light Railway

The South Downs Light Railway is located in the Pulborough Garden Centre in Pulborough, Sussex. It is a 10+1/4 inch gauge railway which is run by a group of volunteers.

From Stopham Road Staton their trains will take you on an exciting trip through the gardens. Trains run from March to September and they are usually hauled by a steam locomotive. The track is just under one mile long.

They have added a new station and ticket office, an engine shed and more. They have built a tunnel and re-installed the turntable. You can even hire out the train for exclusive use for a birthday party. They also run a number of themed events, such as Teddy Bears’ Picnic, Galas, Santa specials and more.
