Things to do at WWT Arundel Wetland Centre
You can discover a haven of wide-open spaces bursting with wetland nature. At the new coastal creek aviary, you can see a landscaped area for their seaducks and waders. There is a large glass-sided diving duck tank and they have special daily feeds and talks. Another area of the centre is Pelican Cove. Here you can see the Dalmatian pelicans, the largest and rarest of the species with a wingspan of up to 11 feet.
You can even experience the wetlands by boat for an extra £3 per person. The 20-minute guided safari takes you through wetland habitats and onto the woodland carr. Your guide will help you spot the wildlife and you will hopefully get some excellent views from the boat. You can book your boat safari when you book your admission tickets online.
At the centre, you can wander along their woodland boardwalk of decks and bridges through a world of towering reeds and glistening lakes. You can purchase grain for the ducks and geese who will even eat out of your hand. Their outdoor adventure play area ‘Pond Life’ is where under 8s can leap across lily pads, balance on a fish log, climb ladders and slide down a duck.
