Things to do at Southwater Country Park review

Southwater Country Park is in Southwater, near Horsham in West Sussex. It is a wildlife park with an adventure play area dedicated to dinosaurs, watersports and a visitor centre. The park is 90 acres in size with level surfaced paths providing an easy-going lakeside walk.

Did you know that a real iguanodon skeleton was found in the lake? To find the dinosaur-themed play area follow the big dinosaur footprints from the Visitor centre lake to Dinosaur island. Discover dinosaur bones in the sand, explore aerial walkways and more. There are musical instruments, dinosaur sculptures, some wheelchair accessible play equipment and challenging trails and climbing frames for bigger kids.

At Southwater Watersports you can hire open canoes and kayaks by the half hour. They also run family fun days with activities. Kayak and paddleboard hire is from £10 for 30 minutes and open canoe hire (for families with children under 8 only) from £20 for 30 minutes. Fishing is also available and you can hire bikes to cycle along the Downs Link that runs alongside the park (cycling is not permitted within the park).
