Pick Your Own Sunflowers
Farmer Copleys is located near Thirsk in North Yorkshire. They have a variety of ‘seasonal’ offerings such as PYO fruit, a maize maze, pick your own sunflowers and pick your own pumpkins.
Pick Your Own Pumpkins – PYO Pumpkin Patch
The pumpkin patch is located in the middle of their farm. You can enjoy pumpkin picking with plenty of space and fresh air. Entry is via pre-booking online. They have around 40,000 of many different kinds with prices starting from £1.
Activities include a carving barn, maize maze, corn cannon, tractor rides, bale mountain and fairground rides. A cash deposit is required for wheelbarrows. Food and drink will be available and the maximum stay is 2.5 hours. Wellies are advised.
Cost? £5 voucher per person. This can then be redeemed against activities at the farm or pumpkins you pick.
This year a unicorn is the theme of the maize maze. £3 per child. The maze may close in wet weather. The maize maze usually opens around August and it is also open during pumpkin picking.
What else can you PYO at Spilman’s Cafe and Pick Your Own Pumpkins
They also have pick your own strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries and blackberries when in season. Plus pick your own sunflowers, again when in season. You can even dig up your own spuds.
Other things to do at Spilman’s
There is a play barn on-site with play tractors, rural crafts, potting shed, vintage tractor park, sand kitchen and more.
Cafe – Open during the PYO season for takeout hot and cold drinks, sweet treats and snacks and ice creams. Contactless payments are preferred.
Dog friendly? Well behaved dogs are allowed to visit the farm. Please keep them on a lead and clean up after them. No dogs on the pumpkin patch, please.
