St Conan's Kirk
St Conan’s Kirk is a historic visitor attraction located in Lochawe, Argyll and Bute. It was designed and built by Walter Douglas-Campbell and is a unique example of almost every style of church architecture. It was voted one of the Top 10 buildings in Scotland in the last 100 years.
The church has a magical lochside setting and is exceptional both in style and surroundings. Highlights include the Norman doorway, Gothic flying buttresses, a Celtic cross and arts and crafts carvings. Plus a Saxon tower and there is even a stone circle.
The lochside gardens offer stunning views over the loch. The inside of the church is just as spectacular as the outside. Within the kirk, there are several chapels to explore. It is certainly somewhere that is worth spending a bit of time at.
