Stanborough Park is a beautiful countryside park with 2 lakes covering an area of 126 acres in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. There are lots of different attractions at the park including trails, a play area, water sports and more.

Things to do at Stanborough Park

You can take a walk around the park or go a bit more extreme and have a go at kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding and sailing. In the warmer months, they have an Aqua Inflatable course on one of the lakes.

Other activities include fishing, there is a nature trail and if you want to relax more on the water why not rent a rowing boat or a pedal boat? There is a model boating lake, nature walks and orienteering trails. They also have bouncy castles in the summer and there is a pirate ship-shaped play area.

Splashlands is a new purpose-built leisure facility on the north side of the park. There is a paddling river meandering through a 600m2 splash pad play area. The splash pad has 67 jets split into toddler and kid zones which shoot up to 1.5m in the air. There is also an outdoor gym and sports pitch. The entrance is free, with bookable spaces. (splash pad open from Good Friday through to the last Sunday in September)

Is there food and drink available?

There is a cafe which serves hot and cold food and drinks. You are welcome to bring a picnic.

What are the main things to do?

Park with play areas, trails, watersports, a model boating lake and a large paddling pool with a splash area. There are toilets and a cafe.

What are the ticket prices?

The park is free, to visit and most activities are free. Some have a charge such as the lake activities.

Is there parking?

There are several car parks at the park and there is a small charge to park.
