The Commandery
Attraction Overview
The Commandery is a historic building open to visitors located in the city of Worcester, Worcestershire. It opened as a museum in 1977 and it is most famous for being the Royalist Headquarters during the deciding battle of the English Civil War in 1651.
Inside you can learn more about fearsome weapons, discover historic displays and more. You will discover wood-panelled Tudor rooms and there is a medieval Great Hall plus a beautifully preserved painted chamber. Outdoors there are spacious walled gardens to explore.
There is an interactive exhibition where you will learn about Worcester’s Civil War history. They often host annual events, including spooky after-dark tours and family fun activities in the school holidays.
