The Novium Museum
The Novium Museum is located in the centre of Chichester, Sussex. It is an award-winning museum that tells the fascinating story of the town.
Museum Overview
It is set over 3 floors and its original purpose was to show the remains of a Roman Bathhouse which are now uncovered for visitors to see. On the ground floor, you will step back in time and see a stunning mosaic, the bathhouse and objects that were discovered in excavations across the Chichester district.
On the first floor, there are exhibitions relating to a Mystery warrior, 200 years of the Chichester canal and a look at the town’s history. The Mystery Warrior is arguably the most elaborately equipped Iron Age Warrior grave that has even been found in England.
Then on the second floor, there is a temporary exhibition space plus a spectacular view of Chichester Cathedral. They host a range of events throughout the year including additional activities for families.
