The Potions Cauldron

The Potions Cauldron is located on The Shambles York, one of the most historical and photographed streets in the UK. There is a wizard-themed shop and you can try out some really magical drinks. Plus they offer a ‘potion’ making experience.

What is there to do at The Potions Cauldron?

The shop itself is very small and you usually have to queue to get in. It’s like somewhere straight out of Diagon Alley and they add to the mystery with ‘smoke’ coming out of the window. You can purchase magical potions and all manner of gifts. We LOVE the drinks from there.

The Potions Experience only lasts for about 20 minutes and they run a number of sessions throughout the day. I would recommend the experience for children aged 5-6 and over. You are shown into a small room where the experience starts with a quiz about The Shambles. You then get to make your own magical drink after being given a choice of magical themes. The experience is quite good value for money as the drinks themselves aren’t especially cheap.
