Things to do at Thoresby Park review

Thoresby Park is a hotel with a swimming pool, two restaurants and they serve a fabulous afternoon tea. They are also a family-friendly visitor attraction and you don’t have to be staying at or eating at the hotel to enjoy the beautiful parkland. Thoresby park has acres of parkland to explore and it is located near Ollerton in Nottinghamshire.

There is a beautiful walled garden that was constructed in 1765 and was closed to the public until recently. There is a signposted circular walk around the estate that is accessible to all. The walk takes around an hour. You can also get off the beaten track and follow other trails. There are maps available from the visitor centre. You can even hire an electric bike to help you explore. The park also has a relatively new woodland play area.

Like Newstead Abbey, Thoresby Park is a popular place to enjoy a paddle in the stream on a warm summers day. If you walk away from the hotel, follow the path towards Perlethorpe. There is a bridge going over the river, next to that there are steps down to the river and this is a perfect place to paddle.

Thoresby Park is well known for its large annual events,.
