Things to do at Thornton Hall Country Park review

Thornton Hall Country Park is a family-friendly farm park with animal encounters, play areas and more. It is an award-winning family run park near Thornton-in-craven, North Yorkshire. They even have camping pitches so you can stay overnight.

The farm has a great range of daily activities so make sure you find out what’s on and plan your day accordingly. They have animal petting sessions, egg collecting, farmyard tours, lamb and calf feeding (seasonal), paddock walk, pony grooming and pig brushing.

They have a great range of animals to meet at the farm including llamas, goats, alpacas, ponies, pigs, birds and more. They have indoor and outdoor play areas plus huge jumping pillows.

There are also some fun rides at the farm including a 5-minute barrel ride where you are pulled by a quad bike around the meadow (£2 per barrel). Pony rides (£2.50 each). Junior quad bikes (£5 each). Plus a Wizzick Safari which is a 25-minute safari with fabulous views of 200 acres of farmland, woodland, quarry and deer park (£3.50 pp). The farm park hosts a great range of annual family-friendly events.

Their indoor play area is currently having a major revamp and is set to be finished sometime in April. There will be a brand new indoor play area plus baby and toddler soft play. A role play area and Go-Karts (coming soon). Plus a brand new indoor Diner seating over 200 people.

*Prices are subject to change and/or discounts online. *Cheap. Entrance is good value at £6.95 per child and £5.95 per adult at peak times. The rides have additional costs which can make the day out more expensive but with a low entrance fee, I feel this is fair.

There is free parking.

When are they open?

Thornton Hall country park is open for most of the year with just a few days of closure around Christmas and the New Year. For up to date opening times please visit their website.
