Tilgate Park

Tilgate Park is in Crawley, West Sussex. It is a large recreational park and has a large lake with adjacent gardens that were once part of a country mansion. The park has a large forest and a Nature centre with animals. The lake has a watersports centre and the forest is home to Go Ape and four bike trails.
Watersports on the lake include canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding and more. You can also fish in the lakes and there is a golf centre with an 18-hole golf course. There is a charge for these activities.
The Tilgate Nature Centre is a local nature reserve and it is home to over 100 different species of animals. There is a small charge to visit. Animals include meerkats, lemurs, tapir, donkeys, maras and more. They also offer animal experiences for an additional cost, age restrictions apply. Experiences include meeting the meerkats, tapir time, junior keeper and more.
The park has a walled garden that contains a hedge maze that is free, to enter. It was once part of the historic Tilgate estate. It is now a garden for everyone to enjoy with themed areas. There is also a cafe in the walled garden. They have been working on a new play area at the park that has been designed to be as inclusive as possible.

There is a cafe and a restaurant serving hot and cold food and drinks. You are welcome to bring a picnic.
