Tropical Birdland

Last Updated on March 7, 2024 by Suzy McCullough

Tropical Birdland is located on the outskirts of the village of Desford in Leicestershire. It is a visitor attraction that is dedicated to birds. They have many different species including parrots, macaws, toucans, hornbills and owls. Some of the birds are out of their cages during visiting hours.

What can you do at Tropical Birdland?

The parrot path is a great place to get up close to and interact with the birds. Watch out for the naughty jewellery-stealing birds! They even have a chick room where you can view their newly born chicks (for the safety of the babies this can be viewed through a large window). There are some walk-through aviaries with plenty of birds to spot.

Next to the restaurant and picnic area, there is a wooden adventure play area. This was built in 2013 and is a great place for kids to let off some steam. They also have a woodland walk if you fancy stretching your legs. You can purchase bird food from the shop to feed their friendly birds. They can also host your child’s birthday party.
