Things to do at Upton House and Country Park review
Upton Country park in Upton, Dorset is an award-winning free day out for families. There are 160 acres of gardens, woodland and parkland.
Spurrier’s play park has wooden equipment which are challenging and stimulating. This is a relatively new area in the park. It caters for a wide range of ages and abilities with a focus on natural play. There is also a play park activity sheet which you can download and have fun completing. In summer there is a splash fountain for kids to cool off and have fun splashing in.
In the extensive gardens, there is a walled garden and the front lawn is a large area designated for ball games. Look out for the giant picture frame perfect for family photos. The park is the ideal place for walking or cycling along the shoreline and through the woodland. There are some beautiful views of Poole Harbour along the way. The paths are well marked on their park map. You can also book on Segway tours (minimum age 10, there is a charge for this activity) or enjoy some yoga. Other activities include Petanque, orienteering, junior park runs and there’s even a dog training area.
Please note – Most places may still require you to pre-book online in advance. Some venues also still have certain areas closed for safety reasons. Please check their website and/or social media pages before visiting.
