The Valley Gardens in Harrogate are a popular award-winning family-friendly park located in the heart of the town in North Yorkshire. It has colourful seasonal, flower displays, a modern kid’s playground and an Art Deco pavilion.

What is there to do at Valley Gardens Harrogate?

The gardens are set within 17 acres of English Heritage Grade II listed parkland and feature some lovely themed gardens. If you want to extend your visit the adjacent Pinewoods is a further 96 acres of woodland with footpaths that lead to RHS Harlow Carr.

At the centre of the gardens is Bogs Field. It is believed that a greater number of different mineral water springs (which are now wells) come to the surface than any other place on earth. There are 36 of these mineral wells found within the gardens with no two being alike. There are approximately 100 wells in the whole of Harrogate.

There is a fantastic and modern adventure playground for kids with plenty to climb and swing on. There is even a paddling pool perfect for warm summer days. There is a popular model boating pond and a Skateboard/BMX park. Plus sports lovers can enjoy a game of tennis on their tennis courts have a go at pitch and putt and even crazy golf.

Is there food and drink available?

There is a tea room in the gardens serving hot and cold food and drinks. You are welcome to bring a picnic.

What are the main things to do?

Historic gardens with floral displays, adventure playground, paddling pool, BMX track, crazy golf, pitch and putt, tennis and nearby woodland. There are toilets and a tea room.

What are the ticket prices?

Free. The park and most of its facilities are free, to use. There may be a small charge for some of the sports activities.

Is there parking?

free, parking is available on Valley Drive or on Cornwall Road. There are maximum stay restrictions at the lower end of these roads but not further up the hill.

When are they open?

Valley Gardens is open all year round. The outdoor games season runs from April to October. As times vary throughout the season, please call 01423 556761 for further details.
