Vikingar
The Vikingar! Leisure Centre and Visitor Attraction is located in Largs, Ayrshire. It is situated adjacent to the promenade in this beautiful coastal town and boasts views over the Firth of Clyde.
In addition to the historical and action-packed Viking Experience, there is the Barrfields Pavilion Theatre, a 4 lane 25-metre swimming pool and a teaching pool for beginners and young swimmers. On-site there is Multiball, which is a large screen with a world of interactive games to try. It combines real-life physical activity with gaming using touch-sensitive projections.
Vikingar! is an interactive and hands-on Scottish heritage and cultural centre. Viking storytellers will invite you into their replica 8th-century Norwegian Longhouse. You will see how they lived, what they ate and drank, where they slept and find out the reasons for leaving their homelands. You will be encouraged to try on replica helmets and armour and check out their swords, shields and axes.
If you are brave enough you will meet the Gods of Asgard and you will receive a message from Odin himself. If you are worthy you can then enter the Valhalladrome where you will see a 15-minute audio-visual presentation.
