Wentworth Garden Centre

Wentworth Garden Centre

Wentworth Garden Centre in Wentworth near Rotherham in South Yorkshire is a real treasure of a place. Not only are there some beautiful gardens to explore but they have a family farm with an adventure playground and a couple of great places to eat.

What is there to do at Wentworth Garden Centre?

Four decades ago the gardens were overgrown and tangled. They’ve been lovingly restored and there’s now a series of gardens which you can explore for a small fee. There’s a fun hedge maze, an Italian garden with a pond, a deer paddock, a rock garden with follies, a woodland walk and more.

Their family farm has a small entrance fee (see below). The play areas have been recently rebuilt and revamped with sand and water play, a mini tractor derby and a fabulous new pirate ship to play on. Plus there are lots of adorable animals, waiting for you. Animals include alpacas, rabbits, sheep, meerkats, birds, goats and more.

If you love Christmas decorations they sell a great choice to suit all budgets. We always love going to see the fish which you can even purchase from their large range. If you don’t want to pay to visit the farm the garden centre also has a free, adventure playground with swings, slides, climbing frames and more. They’ve also recently added a wonderful new dining experience ‘The Bothy’ set within a contemporary ‘arts and crafts’ environment. They are using only the finest and freshest locally sourced ingredients.
