Weston Museum tells the unique story of Weston-Super-Mare in Somerset. It is located in the heart of the town and it has exhibits on local history and seaside holidays plus there is an adjacent cottage with 1900-styled rooms.
You can learn about a world where prehistoric creatures once roamed the earth. There are tools and treasures that have been left behind by ancient inhabitants beginning with the Stone Age up to the Medieval era.
There are also displays showing how Weston developed from a small fishing village to the town it is today. Plus you can discover more about Weston as a thriving seaside resort from the Victorian era and other galleries. Make sure you visit the iconic Clara’s Cottage which shows what houses were like in Weston in the early 1900s.
There are interactives in the galleries that you can touch, listen to, play with or dress up. Especially for kids, there is an audio tour around the museum which is accessed through QR codes. They also have mini explorer backpacks which you can borrow for free.
