Wilton House Salisbury

Wilton House Salisbury

Wilton House is an English country house located in Wilton near Salisbury, Wiltshire. It was built on the site of the medieval Wilton Abbey and it has been the country seat of the Earls of Pembroke for over 400 years.

What is there to do at Wilton House Salisbury?

The house is set in 21 acres of landscaped parkland with water and rose gardens beside the River Nadder and Palladian bridge. They open the house to visitors from late April until early September. When the house is open there is also a Classic Car exhibition. Visits to the house are via a tour which includes the Dining room, library and Hunting room.

Within the grounds, there is an exciting adventure playground. The gardens are extensive although not all of them are open to the public. There is still plenty to explore and the highlight is certainly the Palladian bridge that was built in 1737.

There is a Japanese water garden, a woodland, formal gardens and a 32-foot Egyptian column from Rome. The adventure play park is large and it has wooden structures amongst the trees with slides, nets, swings, trampolines and more. There is also a smaller fenced-off area for the under 5s. Regular events take place in the ground including family-friendly trails, charity walks and more.
