Woodthorpe Garden Centre

Woodthorpe is a nationwide chain of garden centres. Most tend to offer more than just plants and Woodthorpe is no exception. It is located just a short drive from Alford in Lincolnshire. Dinothorpe is a small section where they have some very realistic animated dinosaurs. It’s great fun watching them move and hear them roar.
There is a relatively large outdoor play area with ride-ons, climbing and slides. There is also a full-size hedge maze. It can take quite a while to find the middle. They also sell a great range of plants, flowers and gifts. Woodthorpe is a lovely place to visit on the run-up to Christmas. They have some excellent Christmas displays and also a Santa Grotto.
If you’re looking for something else to do in the area we can also recommend Lincs Aquatics just a very short drive/walk from the garden centre. It is one of Britain’s biggest indoor aquatic superstores with a great range of fish to look at. There’s even a room with reptiles. You can also purchase a bag of fish food and walk up a wooden ramp to feed some large and hungry fish.
