The XC at Jarman Park, Hemel Hempstead is an impressive extreme sports skate park plus there is an indoor climbing wall, high ropes course and caving system.

It has one of the UK’s finest covered skateparks and they welcome skateboarders, scooter riders, BMX riders and skaters of all varieties and abilities. It is the only covered concrete pool and bowl complex in the UK and has been designed to look and ride just like a backyard pool in California. It has a number of features including a street section. The skatepark runs a number of sessions including mini shredders for 4-7-year-olds, girls-only sessions, scooter lessons, open sessions from the age of 8 and adult-only sessions.

Also at the centre is Europe’s largest indoor caving system. They have sessions for 8-17-year-olds, adult-only sessions and family caving sessions from the age of 5. The cave measures around 160m and has intricate twists and turns. There are three chambers and one section leads to a sheer drop which is the start of their high ropes course.

The high ropes course is situated 12m above the ground. This is for ages 7 and over including adults. There is a range of obstacles and their sessions run similarly to the caving sessions. The climbing area has bouldering, roped and auto-belay sections. They also run a number of sessions and children can take part from the age of 5. They can even host your child’s birthday party.
