The length of time you spend at Zip World Slate Caverns near Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales all depends on how many activities you take part in. This is a high adrenalin adventure day out with three fun-filled activities, although two of the activities are more suited to older children. These activities are set in and above ground of actual, but now disused, slate mines.

Things to do at Zip World Slate Caverns

Bounce Below – This is one enormous underground net adventure. There are 6 nets in total and you can jump and slide your way through this now disused mine. Minimum age of 7 years. Sessions last for 1 hour.

Caverns – You can fly, climb and traverse your way around their unique underground course. There’s even a tightrope although you can go a different way if you’re not quite brave enough. There are 13 zip lines and other elements such as rope bridges and the tightrope. Minimum age of 10 years, a minimum height of 1.8 metres and other restrictions apply. A session lasts for 3 hours.

Titan 2 – Exhilarating tour and zip experience, containing 1 kilometre of the same four-person parallel zipping action, while adding an in-depth tour of this historic location to delight all ages. Your day out begins with the tour, lasting around 45 minutes, as you climb on board one of our iconic former army trucks. Twisting and turning throughout Llechwedd slate quarry. Minimum age of 7 years, height 1.2 metres. Other restrictions apply. A session lasts for 2 hours.

Underground Golf – Mini golf course, set 500ft below the ground in a disused cavern, and only accessible by Europe’s steepest cable railway. Enjoy the impressive display of lighting and interactive elements as you putt your way through the course’s exciting and unique levels, with 4 floors to tackle. From 3 years +.

Deep Mine Tour – You’ll spend approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes soaking up all there is to know about Llechwedd’s fascinating past. Head aboard our underground train on Europe’s steepest cable railway and learn all about this iconic mine’s 16 underground levels – including where the famous Llechwedd Cheese is matured, and the 8 underwater layers. You must be able to walk to take part in the tour.

Big Red – Big Red features two side-by-side lines 30 feet high, making it the perfect thrill for friends and family to race each other to the end. Two goes are included with each ticket. Participants must be at least 3 years old to take part.
