10 Best Haven Touring Sites | Pitches and Facilities

Haven is one of our most favourite Holiday Park chains to visit. Sometimes the touring areas can be a bit hit and miss for us. We have stayed at some that have been right by the facilities and have had lovely big pitches with fabulous touring and camping facilities. Others have been disappointing and I sometimes have wished that I had done a bit more research.

For this reason I have asked for advice and recommendations within my caravan groups. The results of which I am posting about today. I will include links to all sites, reviews where possible and also a map of the site. This is so that you can see the touring site size and it’s proximity to the facilities.

*affiliate links – It will cost you no extra to book through any of the links below

Please note all sites below allow campers with tents, caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents unless otherwise stated. These sites also have static caravans to rent. All sites are listed in alphabetical order.

Top tip if you are looking for the biggest pitch possible it pays to enter the largest caravan size allowed on that particular site. You also get allocated a bigger pitch if you select awning (we rarely take our awning though!).

Burnham on Sea Haven, Somerset

Pitches – Largest pitches available for a tourer are – Euro Hardstanding with Awning. Approx pitch size 7.9m x 7.9m (26ftx26ft). A touring pitch with a hardstanding base that has connection points for Electric hook up, drinking water, wastewater disposal and TV point. These pitches also have space for an awning.

A little bit about the site from a touring caravan owner. “Great really friendly wardens. Stayed twice, both times on grass pitches which were very big. Toilet and shower block well looked after and included a few cleaning items to clear up after ourselves.

Only a couple of minutes walk to entertainment block with a great swimming pool, restaurants, shop and laundry facilities. Fully serviced pitches looked great. Short walk to seafront and into the town which has everything you need.”

A quote from Haven “With a climbing wall, ropes course and swan boats, our buzzy park is just made for outdoorsy families. But because the action is spread out among trees and water, there’s a lovely feeling of escape here.

Just hop across the road and the beach is a pleasant stroll away. Or stay on the park for fresh fish and chips or sample our tasty bar and restaurant menu.” Click to book a stay at Burham on Sea.

A little bit about the site from a touring caravan owner.  “We go to Caister on sea, lovely big pitches water electric tv point all there. Always very friendly staff we have been going there for six years on the trot, the only downside is that it’s too expensive in the holidays.”  Read a review here of the site by Me, him, the dog and a baby.

A quote from Haven – “It’s easy to see why Edwardians liked this coastal spot in the lovely village of Caister-on-Sea. Take a short stroll through our dunes and flop on to the golden sand (or hop in the car and explore the nearby Norfolk Broads). Spend all day on the beach – we’ve got great access to miles of golden sand.” Click to book a stay at Caister On Sea

Hafan Y Mor Haven, Pwllheli, Wales

A touring pitch with a hardstanding base that has connection points for Electric hook up, drinking water, wastewater disposal and TV point. These pitches also have space for an awning.

A little bit about the site from a touring caravan owner –  “We stayed at Hafan y Mor last year and it was such a nice site. Pitches were huge and the whole touring part is maintained by a lovely couple who are constantly tidying and cleaning and looking after you. Very friendly and didn’t feel like you were on a huge commercial site at all. Would highly recommend that”.

“I’d recommend Hafan y Mor in North Wales, pitches are grandstanding with gravel for awning and a large side of the grass, fully serviced pitches. The shower block is lovely and clean. 300 yards or so from the entertainment and bus stop. It is about 3/4 mile walk to the beach, but you can take the car closer. 5* Read more about the site here in a review by the Coastal Mummy.

A quote from Haven – “Looking for a bit more? We have action galore in our large, gently undulating park on the Llyn Peninsula. Think deserted beaches, wildflowers and the Snowdonia National Park.

Inside our park, we have so many fun activities, including Aeriel Adventure! But with gardens, woodland walks and our own pebbly beach, you might choose to do – nothing at all.” Click to book a stay at Hafan Y Mor

A little bit about the site from a touring caravan owner – I wanted to include a site in Scotland. I included Craig Tara Ayr because it’s got the biggest pool I’ve ever seen and no one had recommended anywhere up north. One of my readers said “We think it’s terrible for tourers. Tourers are away up the back and shower facilities are small and not very good. I much prefer Haven Haggerston castle.” And so, for this reason, we are including Haggerston Castle.

A quote from Haven – “Family adventures on the Northumbrian coast…Our pretty woodland park is on an old castle estate with a remaining tower. And, you’ll certainly live like kings here in Northumberland as we have lots going on.

Our tempting line-up includes a pool, a ropes course and pony riding. But with shady paths and trails, you can go for a stroll or bike ride around the park – and lose yourself among the trees. Anyone for hide and seek?”. Click here to book a stay at Haggerston Castle

Best park I’ve been to, you can find out more in their review.

A quote from Haven – “Perfect for the best of Tenby… Bring your hiking boots to our scenic Welsh park – there are some world-famous walks here. We’re on a flat coastal plain, slap bang in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. So you can wander easily between sports venues or stroll down an undulating path to the shore. The camping area is about a three-minute walk from the entertainment complex where there is an indoor pool, outdoor pool, arcade, there is a wide variety of entertainment in the pub for kids and adults. It’s a great site”.

A quote from Haven – “Gateway to the magnificent Lakes. Our park is on a flat coastal plain so it’s easy to get around – even for little legs! But we’re surrounded by peaks, views of Morecambe Bay and glittering lakes – so you might want to pack your hiking boots and explore further afield.

I received many short but happy recommendations for Littlesea –We went to Littlesea Haven Holiday Park in Weymouth and it was fabulous! By themoneypanel

A quote from Haven – “Next to Fleet Lagoon Nature Reserve. Wander through (not so little) Littlesea and listen to the splish splosh. Our indoor pool is perfect for families – we’ve got fun sprays and spouts galore. Get active on our adventure golf course, tennis courts and sports court. Or for your daily seaside fix, just stroll along the path to East Fleet Lagoon, where you can take the coastal path to the Jurassic Coast’s West Bay.” Click to book a stay at Littlesea

A little bit about the site from a touring caravan owner – “We like Perranporth large pitches, clean toilets. A good site.” –  “We’ve had lovely “super” Pitches at Perran Sands and Kiln Park. The basic pitches are very squashed at both and in high season quite rowdy.

Both these parks have new toilet facilities. The new facilities in Perran Sands with the eco grass roofs are lovely”. – “Perran Sands, Perranporth. They have super-sized Euro pitches, massive.. !! Great site near the beach.”

A quote from Haven – “On Perranporth’s famous beach. Our undulating clifftop park is spread across some high sand dunes – so we have great views of the sea below us. Set off on one of our footpaths to the long stretch of sand – and have a picnic.

Or take the coastal path to Perranporth. You can surf, play Frisbee – or help the kids make an epic sandcastle. Then, shhh, you can always escape for an afternoon snooze in the dunes”. Click to book a stay at Perran Sands.

Thorpe Park, Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire

Pitches – Largest pitches available for a tourer are – Euro Hardstanding with Awning. Approx.pitch size 8.5m x 8.5m (28ft x 28ft). We have a 7.9m tourer and I can confirm that our pitch was a lot bigger than this when we stayed at Thorpe park.

A touring pitch with a hardstanding base that has connection points for Electric hook up, drinking water, wastewater disposal and TV point. These pitches also have space for an awning.

A little bit about the site from a touring caravan owner – “Despite such small pitch sizes quoted on the website a lot of the pitches are much bigger than stated. We had a lovely sized pitch. The touring site is incredibly close to the main facilities plus a really short walk to the beach/sea. There is an onsite land train that you are free to use and we loved the splash park, pool and evening entertainment.”

A quote from Haven – “Hold on to your hats, you’re about to have a jam-packed holiday! We’re just around the corner from the centre of Cleethorpes. But we also have thrills (on our climbing wall), spills (in our outdoor Space Bowl flume) and plenty for you sport-mad superstars!

Keep your batteries charged with a slap-up meal in our bar and restaurant – the fish and chips are yummy!.” Click to book a stay at Thorpe Park, Cleethorpes.

Wild Duck, Norfolk

Pitches – Largest pitches available for a tourer are – Extra large Electric grass with awning. Approx. pitch size 9.7m x 6.4m (32ft x 21ft). For larger units, a grass pitch with the added benefits of an electric connection point adjacent to the pitch and space for an awning.

A little bit about the site from a touring caravan owner – Wild Duck, Norfolk. Is a great family-friendly site, set in woodland and close to the beach and closer still to the river. Pitch sizes are generous and you’re always asked whereabouts you would like to set up.

There’s a children’s play area right beside the campsite and the entertainment/pub etc is a minuscule walk away, suitable for buggies and wheelchair users too. The facilities are excellent and regularly cleaned. There’s one main water station but lots of taps, electricity points also have tv aerial points. It’s the only Haven site I keep going back to and will keep going back to!

A quote from Haven – “Woodland retreat by the Norfolk Broads. If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of a relaxing time! Our park is hidden among the trees and lakes in a pretty forest. It’s hard to believe we’re only a few miles from the sea.

We have a restaurant, play area, sports court and pools. Or you can hire a bike. Cycle along shady paths and spot butterflies, hedgehogs and (of course) wild ducks. Pit, pat, waddle, plop!” Click to book a stay at Wild Duck.
