Trevornick near Newquay, Cornwall offers a range of different ways to camp. Whether you have your own tent or caravan or wish to stay in a static caravan, this is a highly recommended 5-star family and dog-friendly site.
Our choice for this short break for myself, my husband and our son was a stay in a ready-equipped Eurotent. If you don’t want the hassle of putting up a tent and packing everything that goes with it, then the Eurotent option is the way forward.
All we had to bring was our bedding, personal belongings and food. Oh and don’t forget a box of matches. We have camped several times before but it’s so easy to forget the small things!

What are the Eurotents at Trevornick Like? – A Look Inside
There are up to 36 Eurotents on the site. Each private hedged bay consisted of four tents, each on its own raised solid base. Each tent consists of a roomy living area and three separate bedroom compartments. To sleep six people in comfort on sturdy metal framed beds with firm mattresses.

Bedrooms
Our tent had a large bedroom on the left side with a double bed and a single bed. On the right side was a ‘double’ made up of two single beds. Plus a separate single bedroom which we used for storage of our bags and clothes.
The ‘double’ of two singles was slightly wider than the one in the left-side bedroom so we slept on that one. Between the two bedrooms at the back of the tent is a hanging rail with hangers for larger items of clothes and coats.

Living Area
The main living area has all the essentials such as a small fridge with a freezer compartment, a two-hob gas stove, a large table and six chairs. The cooking area was well equipped with a frying pan, a set of three saucepans, a teapot, cooking utensils, a chopping board and six of everything else – cups, plates, bowls, cutlery and glasses all neatly arranged on two wire utility racks for convenient use.
Included in the inventory are items to make your stay that bit easier, such as a toaster, a colander, a wire clothes airer, a broom, a washing-up bowl, and a dustpan and brush.
One thing to do as soon as you arrive is check the laminated inventory in your tent. We noticed we didn’t have a kettle, but we asked the site staff who were cleaning the tent next to us who quickly got one for us.

Some Extra Touches
Our son was happy to find a TV in the tent, and site-wide wifi makes it feel like a home from home. One evening we snuggled in the tent and tuned into the DVD channel for a screening of the new Jumanji film. Check the Trevornick guidebook for the daily DVD timetable. There are three screenings per day of different films so you won’t see the same one twice during a week’s stay.
Tents are fully equipped with electric power sockets. You can use any of your electrical devices as normal. We did see one camper using hair straighteners!
Outside the Eurotents at Trevornick
After a comfortable night’s sleep, the next morning we decided to eat out for breakfast at the restaurant on site. (Please see my Trevornick site review for a more complete guide to the whole site.) On the second morning, we decided to cook our own.
The layout of the tent means you can roll up one whole side of the tent for ease of cooking in the tent and dining outside. Unfortunately, we had to remove and dispose of some staples which had been tacked into the bottom flap. Once done, we rolled it up and clipped it in place.
Sadly, after eating al fresco, we had to pack up and check out by 10 a.m. We were genuinely sad to leave and it was refreshing to have packed the car in 10 minutes. Rather than the usual time taken when camping. Staying in a Eurotent is thoroughly recommended and is a great time saver for those of us with busy lives. They are dog-friendly and non-smoking and perfect for families who want to concentrate on enjoying their holiday.
