With 15 pools and a beachside location, the Hotel Porto Bello Royal is a great choice for families. The hotel has a great Mediterranean village feel to it with low-rise, terracotta buildings. Helona Beach is located on the southeast side of Kos and it enjoys plenty of postcard-worthy views of the coast.
Kardamena is just a 5-minute drive away where you will find restaurants, bars and shops. The beach is just outside but it’s worth noting that there are 96 steps from the hotel down to the sand. It is also close to the airport which is perfect for transfers with young kids. You will be able to hear aircraft noise. Kos airport is a 15-minute coach transfer to the hotel.
Highlights
The hotel’s 15 pools are all saltwater pools. One is indoors and the outdoor pools have waterfalls, hot tubs and nets for games. All of the pools are bordered by spacious terraces, comfy sun loungers and parasols. Children have their own splash pool with multi-coloured mini slides. At the sister hotel, Porto Bello Beach there is a waterpark.
There is a charge to use the waterpark. It has a great range of slides with something for everyone including a lazy river. The waterpark is open between May and October and the pools there are freshwater. Some of the slides have height and/or age restrictions. Food and drinks here are not included in your all-inclusive package.

Your Board Basis
The board at this hotel is on an all-inclusive basis. Included is a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lunch can be enjoyed at the Mediterranean restaurant or the Greek taverna. Dinner is also on offer in the Burger House restaurant. One visit per stay is included at the Italian restaurant and reservations must be made in advance. Snacks are available at set times plus there are unlimited local and selected imported alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and hot drinks. There is also a beach bar and a choice of other bars.
Additional Activities
At the hotel, there is a watersports centre where you can borrow canoes or pedal boats for a charge. Or there are other watersports. At one of the pools, there are often games of water polo and aqua aerobics classes. Other facilities include tennis courts, beach volleyball, a playground for the kids and more.
Adults can book a treatment at the spa and there is a gym for those aged over 18. On-site there is a mini-market and guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi.
Entertainment
Down by the beach, there is a kids’ club for those aged 4-12. Then in the evenings, you can enjoy a range of international entertainment, On the outdoor terrace you will find the occasional live shows and musicians. At the sister hotel, there is an amphitheatre with an in-house entertainment team which you can enjoy with your stay.
