Dare Valley Country Park
Dare Valley Country Park and Gravity Family Bike Park are located near Aberdare in South Wales. It is a large park with 500 acres of woodlands, pasture and moorland mountainside. The site also has a caravan and camping park.
At the family-friendly bike park, you can take on trails and pump tracks on the dramatic Penrhiwllech mountain. They also offer weekly coaching to help improve your skills. You can bring your own bike or they have bikes you can hire. They also offer an uplift service where they take you and your bike to the top of the trails so that you can save your energy for the journey back down.
Next to the cafe, there is a small enclosed toddler play area with a slide and playhouse. Near to this, there is a large adventure playground with swings, slides, a wooden fort and mini trampolines set in the ground. They also have push-along bikes and cars for little ones, towers to climb and a rope obstacle course. If you don’t fancy cycling the park has three marked walks. These vary in distance and difficulty. You can meander past the lakes and spot the local wildlife on wheelchair and pushchair-accessible routes. You can download the walks or pick up a leaflet from the visitor centre.
