Things to do at Zip World Tower review
Zip World Tower is the newest and only recently opened venue for Zip World. Located in the countryside in South Wales near Aberdare. It is the fourth Zip World to open and the 1st situated in South Wales.
The site is nestled in the Rhigos mountain range meaning it has some stunning panoramic views. The site was also once the Tower Colliery for coal mining. There are currently 3 adventure activities at Zip World Tower.
Phoenix – This has two incredible zip lines and it is a record-breaker as it is the fastest seated zip line in the world (and Zip World’s steepest). You will travel at speeds of up to 70mph and there are four lines situated side by side so that you can race your family. The first line takes you down Rhigos mountain and across the reservoir. The second line takes you back to Tower Colliery. Duration: 2 hours for the whole adventure, Minimum height of 1.2m, minimum weight of 25kg, a maximum weight of 120kg. Minimum age of 7.
Tower Coaster – This is the first two-seater roller coaster of its kind in Europe. It will send you racing around the site reaching speeds of up to 25mph on over more than 1 km of track. There are tunnels, banked corners, dips and peaks. Two goes are included with your ticket and you can control the speed of the coaster. Minimum height 1.05m, maximum weight per sledge of 170kg, passengers must be 4 years of age, drivers can be 9 years of age.
Big Red – This features two side-by-side zip lines which are perfect for racing against someone else. The zip wires are 30 feet high and are great for younger kids that can’t take part in Phoneix to feel involved. Two goes are included with your ticket. Minimum age of 5. Minimum weight of 20kg and a maximum weight of 80kg.
Covid 19 – Please check the website or social media of an attraction before visiting. Many places may be open differently and some remain closed. Reviews do not mention all of these changes or possible price changes. Most places still require you to pre-book online in advance.
