The Rhondda Heritage Park is home to the Welsh Mining Experience. Located near Pontypridd in South Wales visitors can experience the life of coal miners on a guided tour of a mine shaft.

They are based on the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery site in the heart of the Rhondda valley, it is a fascinating place to visit for all ages. The Black Gold Underground Experience tour is led by their guides who all worked the coal mines of the Rhondda Valleys.
