Heart of the Country Village – The Village Woodland

The Village Woodland is located in woodland near Lichfield in Staffordshire. Hidden amongst the trees is the home of the fairies who make their doors and homes out of unwanted materials. The trail is based at the Heart of the Country shopping village.

The trail takes around half an hour to complete and the path, although mostly dirt ground, is suitable for pushchairs. If you fancy taking a picnic there are plenty of places to sit along the way. Along the trail, there is a dummy Tree where people can leave their dummies. They are then tied around the tree. There are quite a few because it’s been going on for almost seven years!

Even on a rainy day, sheltering in the woodland makes for a memorable experience. You can also meet three friendly pigs Sandra, Alice and Sower. Well-behaved four-legged friends are very welcome on leads.
