Shiremoor Adventure Playground is located in Shiremoor near Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear. The playground is a community-based and inclusive adventure playground. They cater for children and young people of all abilities.
Things to do at Shiremoor Adventure Playground
The playground is free, to visit and children aged 8 and over are free, to come and go as they please. All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. There are friendly playworkers on hand to support children in using the equipment.
They run dedicated sessions for children with disabilities. The accessible play centre is also equipped with accessible facilities. There is a large outdoor play area with zip wires and basket swings. Kids can borrow roller skates and other equipment while they are there.
For children under the age of 8, there is an area for them to play away from the older children. There are wooden play structures, play huts, a tree house and more. They also have an allotment where children can grow vegetables. They also have a few animals including chickens, guinea pigs and some pigs.
