Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park

Compton Verney in Warwickshire is an award-winning art gallery located in an informal sculpture park. The art gallery is housed in a restored Grade 1 listed 18th-century mansion that is surrounded by 120 acres of parkland that were landscaped by Capability Brown.
The park is rich in history and has a multitude of year-round activities. Kids will love the labyrinth (especially as there are no tall sides and it’s impossible to get lost). You could try and spot wild birds from their lakeside bird hide. There is a sandpit (bring buckets and spades from home or purchase from their shop) plus a woodland playground. Within the grounds, there is a beautifully restored ice house that you can have a peak in plus numerous trails around the parkland.
Art in the park uses the parkland to display various works of art. Between 1993 and 2004 while the mansion was being turned into a state-of-the-art gallery the park was used as a space to host artworks by a number of contemporary artists. Many of these still remain today and they have ambitious plans over the coming years to move more art to the park. Indoors there are touring exhibitions which change every few months.
