Flamborough Head

Flamborough Head

No guide to things to do in the UK would be complete without including one of the most beautiful places to visit. Flamborough Head in East Yorkshire is stunning, and it’s somewhere I’ve been visiting for many years. It is part of the most spectacular stretches of coastline in Yorkshire and a fantastic place to visit with the family. Located on the East Yorkshire coast, just a short drive from Bridlington, it is famous for its dramatic white chalk cliffs, stunning sea views and abundant wildlife.

The rugged headland offers miles of scenic walking routes, with paths following the cliff tops in both directions. Whether you prefer a short stroll or a longer coastal walk, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the fresh sea air and take in the breathtaking views across the North Sea. On a clear day, the scenery is simply stunning, making it a popular spot for photographers and nature lovers alike.

Wildlife is one of the biggest attractions at Flamborough Head. The towering cliffs provide nesting sites for thousands of seabirds, including kittiwakes, guillemots and razorbills. During the spring and summer months, lucky visitors may even spot puffins. Keep an eye on the shoreline below, where seals can often be seen resting on the beaches and rocky coves.

Nearby, visitors will also find a café, visitor facilities and plenty of open space for children to explore. Flamborough Head is a wonderful destination for a family day out, offering beautiful coastal scenery, wildlife watching and fresh-air adventures. Just remember to keep well back from the cliff edge, as coastal erosion can make some areas unstable. Whether you’re visiting for the views, the wildlife or a peaceful walk by the sea, Flamborough Head never disappoints.
