Things to do at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse review

Gressenhall Farm is a family-friendly attraction with a recreated workhouse, museum of Norfolk Life, play areas and also a rare breeds farm.

In the workhouse, you will experience workhouse settings with face to face projections of staff and inmates. They tell the stories, often tragic, often inspirational, of the people who once worked there. It is based on a former workhouse and the galleries explore what life was like. There are different areas of the building to explore including the yards, the laundry and Beech house and more.

In the museum of Norfolk Life, once the men’s dormitory, there are galleries with over 2,000 objects from rural life in Norfolk. You can see a recreation of a 1950s room, see a selection of steam and diesel engines. Plus fire carts, tricycles, carts, wagons and more. Village row and Cherry Tree cottage are recreated shops, a schoolroom and a cottage that show life in the early 20th century.

The farm is a real working farm where you can learn more about traditional farming techniques through demonstrations. There is a circular walk around the farm and they sometimes have cart rides around the fields. There is also a brand new adventure playground with things to climb, swing and slide on. Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse is set in 50 acres of countryside with grounds that include water meadows, woodland and country trails. The attraction holds a number of family-friendly events,.
